Bored... Let's write a blog

To begin... Wait, what even is a blog? A quick google search led me to define a blog as: A blog (a blend of the term web log) is a personal journal published on the World Wide Web consisting of discrete entries ("posts") typically displayed in reverse chronological order so the most recent post appears first. Blogs are usually the work of a single individual, occasionally of a small group, and often are themed on a single subject. Thanks Wikipedia.

This blog will be a personal journal following my adventures of a continual journey to cure boredom. I don't truly have a lot of free time that needs to be filled. Being a student and a single mother of a young Golden Retriever leaves me very little room for boredom. Nonetheless, I always manage to get myself into some kind of escapade worthy of documentation.

The first step to boredom prevention is understanding boredom. When does boredom occur and why? The definition of bored is feeling weary because one is unoccupied or lacks interest in one's current activity. I prefer a less traditional definition of boredom and describe it as the time when one stares at a computer screen or mindlessly flips through television channels desperate for a distraction from their routine. As you can see below I am willing to dress up like a Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle and spin on my head to keep busy for a moment or two.

For those on a perilous search to cure boredom, I am with you and I pledge to find new ways to entertain both you and me. Let's get busy.
